Named by GardenMaking magazine as one of “20 Making a Difference”, gardening has been Sean’s hobby and profession for over 35 years. A graduate of Niagara Parks School of Horticulture, a Master Gardener, Writer and Teacher, he focuses on eco-gardening techniques. Sean has lectured extensively from coast to coast and has appeared on many television & radio shows. He helped create the Ontario Landscape Tree Planting Guide, the Grow-Me-Instead Guide, the Ontario Horticultural Apprenticeship Curriculum, the national Red Seal Occupational Standard, and the Master Gardeners Reference Manual. Over the years, he has sat on several environmental committees with Niagara College, Landscape Ontario and the Perennial Plant Association. He has judged the All-American Selections garden competition and Hamilton’s Monarch Awards and also been the Ontario spokesperson for Garden Days Canada. Sean owns “Sean James Consulting & Design” and instructs at Mohawk College.
