Jeanne has been gardening for pleasure in many locations and conditions for 50 years and is a deeply committed advocate for environmentally sustainable horticultural practices. She specializes in native plants, shade gardening, arboriculture and xeriscaping. She is a Mississauga Master Gardener and serves on the Board of the Cloverleaf Garden Club. Jeanne currently works as a commercial photographer, retiring in 2011 from 21 years of teaching visual arts at the Etobicoke School of the Arts. She now directs her energies to plant culture and environmental conservation and has received two Awards of Merit from the Credit Valley Conservations Authority. She served for 2 years on former Mississauga Mayor McCallion’s Cooksville Creek Task Force and was instrumental in getting Mississauga’s encroachment by-law changed so residents can create boulevard gardens instead of having city-planted grass.
