Welcome Back!
As co-chairs for Canada Blooms 2020, Lou Savoia and Lil Taggart were pleased to once again help present this wonderful Festival. Twenty-four years ago, The Garden Club of Toronto and Landscape Ontario felt we all needed a reminder that spring was coming, and a chance to show the world our best in Horticulture, Landscaping, and amateur and professional Floral Design. From those initial thoughts, Canada Blooms was born and presented as our gift to the city of Toronto. It was a hit right from the start and has continued to grow in international recognition. Sights, sounds, colours, fragrance – a feast for all the senses!
This year Gnomes were to make an appearance – we hoped that visitors could see the variety made by our celebrities, and then vote for their favourite, bid on the one you couldn’t resist, and enjoy or laugh at the various creations. Proceeds will go to charity.
Gardens large and small, new products to help make gardening easier, new plant introductions, advice from Master Gardeners to answer any questions – all this in one location for the gardening enthusiast.
Outstanding, informative and knowledgeable speakers and workshop leaders add yet another dimension to our Festival.
The Toronto Flower Show at Canada Blooms, presented by the members of The Garden Club of Toronto, is an exciting and vibrant display of both Horticulture and Floral Art executed by non-professional competitors from garden clubs and horticultural societies from Ontario and 10 countries around the world. The photography competition, Artists in the Garden, Pop up mini workshops for both adults and children help make this Flower Show one to be remembered. The Children’s Creative Division is always a delight and is a wonderful exhibition of young talent.
The staff and Board and Directors of Canada Blooms could not possibly do this without the creative talent and hard work of the garden builders, designers, architects, floral artists, growers and volunteers. We thank you all! This is your festival and you make us proud.
We were hoping that many would visit the festival – bringing family, bringing friends, make new friends and enjoy.
Canada Blooms has been recognized:
– American Express named Canada Blooms in its top five international festivals in March 2018!
– Condé Nast and USA Today named Canada Blooms in their 2017 list of top ten garden shows… in the world!
– Canada Blooms is Canada’s top Garden Festival!
Wow! Definitely a not-to-be-missed event.
