As you entered Canada Blooms and the National Home Show, Albert Graves of Bloemen Decor created a stunning Tropical Oasis of ferns and orchids, that was built to chase those winter blahs away. Then visitors would have stepped into the main entry way, and followed the ‘roadway’ carpet to the Canada Blooms Garden Hall. Visitors would have experienced the Parade of Florals as they passed by, made from the magnificent plants from the OFG Floral Market.
Albert Graves may have been born in Holland, a country renowned for fields of tulips, but it’s at Canada Blooms that he has made his most significant mark.
Albert has been teaching at Humber for more than 20 years and is an internationally recognized expert in floral design and the commercial floral industry. Trained in the Netherlands, he came to Canada in 1987 and opened Bloemen Décor, a Toronto-based floral design studio, in 1995. Continually searching for the new and novel he has the unique talent of keeping things within a strict design ethos. Whether it’s decorations for the Dutch Queen’s birthday, flowers for visiting dignitaries, glamorous celebrities or an appearance on various television shows, you can be sure that Albert’s designs always bear his unique signature.
A presence at CB since its very birth in 1996, the festival is never complete without a taste of Albert’s Superstar persona on stage…one bouquet after another he succeeds at winning the hearts of every female in the audience, whether 2 or 92 years young.
It is a feast for the eyes and a promise of spring.
