We will be learning in a workshop setting and then practicing basic photographing skills at the festival.

Caution this is NOT a technical session on the use of your camera but a look at the creative and practical skills need to capture great garden/floral shots

Workshop commence early morning (8:30 am) prior to the festival opening, allowing an early look at the Feature Gardens and Garden Hall.

Trish will email you a few days before with suggestions of things to bring for the workshop.

Tripods are permitted but must be removed
from the floor by 9:45 am

Have some fun in a hands-on floral design workshop offered by Ashley Waltho, of Canadian Institute of Floral Design.  No experience or knowledge is required.

Canadian Institute of Floral Design's (www.proflorists.net) Professional Floral Design Program prepares you for a career in the floral industry. Many graduates have opened retail stores and wholesale floral outlets.
Certain students enroll in the program purely for the passion of flowers and to achieve a rewarding hobby or pastime. CIFD offers blended theory with practical "hands on" instruction throughout the program.

In this workshop, Waltho outlines some of the basics of floral design styles & techniques; and introduces proper care and handling of fresh cut flowers.

Watch a detailed demonstration of how to construct a beautiful, Easter Centerpiece & Have the opportunity to construct your own, which you will then be able to take home and enjoy.  The perfect addition to your holiday table.

Fee: $55 per person
includes entry into Canada Blooms, instruction and loan of tools courtesy of Canadian Institute of Floral Design and all fresh floral items necessary to make your bouquet, and take home with you.

Ashley Waltho

Ashley is a third-generation florist, who was introduced to the industry at a very early age by; her Father, Don Waltho, founder and President of Canadian Institute of Floral Design, as well as his Father before that, Ashley's Grandfather, Floral Master William Waltho, Owner an operator of Toronto's Avenue Flower Shop, and named Teleflora's Florist of the Year, in 1981.

The CIFD educational team is proud to have Ashley applying her dedication, experience, education and ever-growing aptitude for the industry to the institution. She brings an innovative angle and is a significant addition to the faculty.
