About Tracey Smyth & Ingrid Janssen

Tracey Smyth
Tracey is a passionate gardener who lives in Oshawa, Ontario.  She is a certified Master Gardener and is currently the Coordinator of the Durham Region Master Gardener group, and is also a member of the Atlantic Master Gardeners.  She continues to upgrade her horticultural and design skills through seminars and online courses with the University of Guelph, and with the Dalhousie Agricultural College in Truro, Nova Scotia.  Recently retired from a successful policing career, she is a partner in Durham Garden Coach, a company providing garden design, maintenance and assistance to gardeners with horticultural problems.

Ingrid Janssen
Ingrid Janssen has been an avid gardener for most of her life and is a passionate, some would say “crazy gardener”.  She is the current co-coordinator of the Durham Master Gardener group.  She is an inspirational speaker and has made several appearances on Rogers TV to share gardening tips and advice.  She has both ornamental and food production gardens on her country property, and is particularly interested in propagation, growing native plants and naturalized gardens.  Ingrid has a Horticulturist Certificate from the University of Guelph, and is an active member of several horticultural and plant societies.
