About Edythe Falconer

Edythe was raised on a farm in Saskatchewan.  She spent 34 years in elementary school education in Ottawa and retired in 1995.  Her gardening interests include the wonderful Rose gardens at the Central Experimental Farm, School gardens, Permaculture, Xeriscaping and Edible Gardening.  She is currently a valued member of the Ottawa-Carlton Master Gardener group.  She write an on-line newsletter published on Lanark and Ottawa websites, and enjoys putting together PowerPoint presentations in order to entertain and inform the general public and various gardening groups.

Edythe was raised on a farm in Saskatchewan and spent most of her teaching career in Ottawa. She retired in 1995 and has been a Master Gardener in Ottawa for 15 years.  Edythe served as a volunteer advisor to the Rose Gardens at the Central Experimental Farm for ten years. She writes garden articles for several local and provincial newsletters and co-edits ‘The Edible Garden’ published monthly on the group’s website.  Edythe gives entertaining and informative presentations to various groups in Ottawa on an annual basis. Currently, she is busy building her garden on permacultural principles.
