Thank you to all of the Great Volunteers who devoted their time and energy in making our
2011 Festival a great success!
We invite you to once again join us as a volunteer at our 16th Annual Celebration. This year
Canada Blooms will be growing from a 5- to a 10-day festival as we co-locate with the
National
Home Show to create North America’s Largest Home & Garden Event. Canada
Blooms is still an independent not-for-profit event and due to the expansion, this year we will
need even more help,
energy and expertise. Come share your passion for gardening and
floriculture with the
thousands of guests. Scheduling for volunteers is
flexible – morning,
afternoon or evening shifts are available. It’s easy to
volunteer – just
complete the online
volunteer application form or update your file if you are a returning volunteer. Go to our
website www.canadablooms.com and sign up today! |

Spreading Roots
On November 3, 4 and 5, the Toronto Botanical Garden will host a tree symposium titled Spreading Roots. The symposium will explore critical issues affecting urban trees while examining what can be accomplished if advocacy groups work together to ensure their survival. Presented over three days, in conjunction with the Ontario Urban Forest Council, Spreading Roots will highlight local and international speakers. Among the presenters are Dr. Cecil Konijnendijk, the University of Copenhagen's leading light in urban forests and Nina Bassuk, Cornell University's front-runner in urban planting techniques. For more information or to register visit: www.spreadingroots.ca.
